Mennawi Highlights on his Priorities in Darfur Region

The Governor of Darfur Region, Menni Arko Mennawi, pointed out that his priorities as the region’s Governor the region are based on creating a solid ground to establish development and services projects that attract the displaced people, refugees and investors, in addition to communicating with the international community and donors.

At a press conference he held Monday at the Friendship Hall, Mennawi said that the Governor’s work team has drawn up a strategic plan for 100 days as a start for rule in the region which is based on the return of the displaced and refugees to their areas, in addition to attracting investments to the region, announcing the inauguration of many development projects, which will be revealed at the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday.

Mennawi has praised the efforts of the Sovereignty Council and the Council of Ministers to arrange for the inauguration of the Governor of the Darfur region, revealing that large numbers of people are heading to Darfur to participate in his inauguration as the Governor of the region on Tuesday.

He noted that the inauguration ceremony will be attended by the Advisor for Security Affairs of South Sudan President, Tut Galwak, a delegation from Chad, and several ambassadors and businessmen and a number of others, indicating that at least seven planes will carry people from Khartoum to Al-Fasher to participate in the inauguration ceremony.

He expressed condolences to the families of the victims in the recent incidents at Kolgy area in North Darfur State, appreciating the efforts of the Wali (governor) of North Darfur to contain the crisis
