Matrix Signed in Port-Sudan to Rehabilitate Sea Ports Corporation

The central government and the trade chambers signed on Saturday in Port-Sudan a matrix for rehabilitating and enhancing the Sea Ports Corporation, in the presence of the Vice – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, the Economic Sector ministers and the Wali (governor) of the Red Sea State, Ali Abdalla Adarob.

The matrix, which included 70 items, was read over by the Minister of Transport, Hashim Ali Abu-Zaid.

The most important items in the matrix included suspension of the appointments at the Red Sea Corporation, except after approval of the Minister of Transport, reviewing the areas assigned for companies and suspension of issuing fishing licenses.

The matrix also included the qualification and training of Sudanese engineers for management of the sea port, increasing the finance ceilings of the sea ports, reconsidering the licenses given to the shipping companies, opening a Customs office at Suwakin Port, reviewing the contract of Haidob port’s establishment, the maintenance of two cranes, in addition to other decisions and procedures aimed to contribute to promotion and enhancement of work at the Sea Ports Corporation.
