Kabbashi and Al-Taayeshi Informed on Work of Committee for Detainees’ Counting

Khartoum,  (SUNA) – Members of the Sovereign Council, Gen. Shams-Eddin Kabbashi, and Mr. Mohamed Hassan Al-Taaeyshi, have reviewed the results of the work of the committee for counting the detainees, prisoners and convicted members of armed movements.
The meeting of the committee, which met at the Republican Palace Sunday, stressed the need to speed up efforts to complete this file.
The Prosecutor of the Darfur Crimes Court, Al-Fatih Mohamed Issa Taifur, explained that the committee has received from the concerned authorities lists of the names of arrested, imprisoned and sentences members of the armed movements arrested to consider their situation, excluding in the cases relating to borders, Qasas and the special right in accordance with the constitutional document.
Taifur affirmed continuation of the committee’s work within the framework of implementation the declaration of principles and the confidence-building agreement signed between the government and the armed movements in Juba in last September.

He pointed out that the committee works under the umbrella of the political and legal committee which is chaired by member of the Sovereign Council, Gen. Shams-Eddin Kabbashi
