IGAD Water Forum Concludes sessions

The The Inter-overnmental Autrhority on Development (IGAD) concluded, Today the activities of its Groundwater Forum which held in Entebbe, Uganda. The concluding session was addressesd by the representatives of Uganda, Dijibouti, State of South Sudan, IGAD’s Excutive Director and the World Bank Water Official. The Forum which organized by the organization’s mmber-tates and the development partners was sponsored by Ugandan Ministry of Water and Development. The Forum discussed, among other issues, undergrund water for peace and stability, underground water for socio-economic development, creation in funding underground water and technological development and provision of opportunities for supporting the underground ater projets.  Sudan presented a scientific papers to the forum titled, solar ebnergy for the development of Sudan rural areas and the management of underground water in Eastern Sudan. The forum recommended giving top priority to underground water sector, provision of reional and international support to develop water sector in the member-states
