The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court(ICC), Fatou Bensouda arrived on Monday in Nyala, capital of South Darfur State within framework of her historic visits to Darfur.
Upon arrived the ICC Prosecutor met with Wali(governor) of the South Darfur State, Musa Mahdi.
Mahdi affirmed that the State would provide support and facilitations for reaching the perpetrators of war crimes in Darfur and bringing them to justice.
He added following his meeting with the ICC Prosecutor that the State is ready to facilitate task of investigators to reach out to the victims.
Fatou Bensouda, for her part, said in press statement, that her visit to Darfur comes with purpose of list3ning to the government and the victims and not for investigation , noting to arrival of team of investigators to Darfur soon to get acquainted with information and evidences , calling the displaced persons to provide the investigators with full information regarding crimes committed in Darfur
Bensouda is currently visiting Darfur States which was described as historic and a head of two weeks from leaving her office as ICC Prosecutor.
