President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has reaffirmed determination of the Armed Forces to build a strong and free Sudan in partnership with the various sectors of the Sudanese people and their political forces, in order to achieve the people’s hopes and aspirations for freedom, peace, justice and decent living.
Addressing today officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of Khartoum North Military Area, Al-Burhan said, “we endeavor to build a strong and free homeland in which citizenship is the basis for rights and duties, a country free from tribal prejudices and ethnic strife.”
He added that the Armed Forces play a fundamental and pioneering role in this regard.
Al-Burhan indicated that the Armed Forces work according to the Constitutional Document in perfect harmony with the partners of the transitional period from the forces of freedom and change and peace partners from the armed struggle movements to implement the tasks of the stage, reviewing the positive developments that the political transition is witnessing in the country in building national cohesion, rehabilitating the armed forces, and achieving requirements of peace.
He reiterating call on Commander Abdulaziz Al-Hilu and Abdel Wahid Nur to join the peace process and participate in building a future Sudan that accommodates all.
The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council called on the political forces in the country to accelerate completion of the structures of the transitional government including the Transitional Legislative Council and the formation of the Constitutional Court to move forward in implementing and consolidating the slogans of the glorious December Revolution in freedom, peace and justice.
Regarding the security arrangements of the Sudan Peace Agreement, Al-Burhan welcomed the forces of the armed struggle movements and called them to join the Armed Forces, stressing the readiness of the Armed Forces to absorb them.
With regard to the situations on the eastern borders of Sudan, the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council pointed out that the Armed Forces redeployed inside the Sudanese borders and have re-secured them and that they will not retreat from their positions as they were not aggressors, indicating that the doctrine of the Armed Forces and their arming is based primarily on defense and not attack and aggression.
