Head of Revolutionary Front: Peace Agreement Will Boost Change and Democratic Governance

Juba (SUNA) – Chairman of the Sudanese Revolutionary Front, Dr. Al-Hadi Idris, pointed out that the final peace agreement will enhance the opportunities for change, democratic governance, economic stability, and improvement of people’s livelihood, indicating that the final signing of the agreement comes as a victory for the glorious December revolution that paved the way for peace.

In his address Saturday to the celebration marking the final signing of the peace agreement in Juba between the government and the Revolutionary Front he stressed that he Revolutionary Front is an integral part of the glorious Revolution.

Dr. Idris expressed his thanks and the thanks to the heads of the organizations of the Sudanese Revolutionary Front to the government and people of the Republic of South Sudan and to His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, for hosting the peace talks and mediating between the Sudanese parties until this agreement became a reality.

He said that the peace reached today in Juba will contribute to establishing a new relationship between the peoples of the two countries of Sudan.

He also expressed his thanks to anyone who contributed to reaching the agreement, the government negotiating delegation led by the Vice – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, and members of the delegation who made the peace agreement.

He thanked the countries and organizations that supported the peace process, top of which is the United Arab Emirates that supported the negotiations hoping that these continues will also support the implementation of the peace agreement.

He also expressed his thanks to the Republic of Chad and its President, Idris Deby, for hosting the displaced persons and refugees during the years of the crisis, praising the role of the Arab Republic of Egypt in supporting the unity of the armed struggle forces and worked to overcome several difficulties.

Dr. Idris thanked the countries of Uganda, Eritrea, Ethiopia, the Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the IGAD member states and the African Union, the European Union, the Troika countries, the United Nations, the PILPG organization and the UNAMID mission.

He saluted the patriotic role of the martyrs of the cumulative Sudanese revolution and the martyrs of the armed struggle movements.

He stated that the peace agreement’s signing marked realization of the Sudanese revolution’s motto of “Freedom, Peace and Justice”, affirming that the Revolutionary Front will work with all the forces of revolution and change, especially the Forces of Freedom and Change, to complete the tasks of the revolution and to make a success the transitional period democratic transformation.

Dr. Idris said that the peace agreement, which was reached after deep and purposeful deliberations, has discussed the causes of disputes and provided solutions, stressing that the peace agreement will not be complete without the support of the international community and the friends of Sudan in terms of meeting the peace requirements and the help to rebuild what was destroyed by the war by holding a donors ’conference and by fulfilling commitments to peace, adding that the absence of support was an essential reason for the failure of the previous peace agreements.

He expressed his hope that the agreement signing will mark the end of wars in Sudan, asserting that Sudan’s stability is a national, regional and international responsibility and requires national, regional and international support.

The Chairman of the Revolutionary Front said that this agreement forms will be the basis for future peace agreements with the parties that were not join the agreement, calling on the on the comrades who did not join the agreement to stick to peace and to work for reaching it.

He called on the native administration and the wise men to actively contribute to the social peace in Darfur and East Sudan to end disputes and to preserve the national unity, appealing to the political forces to regard peace as a means for boosting the unity and strengthening the political incubator of the government of the revolution.

Dr. Idris stated that the peace agreement represents a bright chapter in the history of the Sudanese nation which reflect the peace and love for all the people in Sudan and affirms the exert of effort and transferring energies for the sake of the building and success of the transitional period, the end of suffering and the work for the welfare of the Sudanese people.
