Hamdouk: Transitional Government Works to Build Strong and Professional Army

The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, has got informed on the overall situations in the Armed forces in terms of its composition, qualification and readiness, its various branches, as well as the Armed Forces’ strategy and openness on all fronts.

This came when he visited Monday the Headquarters of the Staff of the Armed Forces in the General Command of the Armed Forces, accompanied by the Ministers of the Cabinet Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Finance and Economic Planning and Communications and Digital Transformation along with a number of officials.

Dr. Hamdouk was received by the Minister of Defence, Gen. Yassin Ibrahim, the Chief of Staff, Gen. Mohamed Osman Al-Hussein, and Deputies of the Chief of Staff for Training and Operations.

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, also arrived at the Armed Forces’ General Command.

The Prime Minister has praised the history of the Armed Forces, which is rich with heroism and sacrifices for the sake of defending the homeland and its territorial integrity as well as the bias to the will of the people.

He expressed salutations and respect to the martyrs of the Armed Forces throughout its long history, pointing to the Armed Forces’ continuous stance of bias to the people in the moments of seriousness and during the great revolutions of October, April and December.

He also explained that his visit aims for support to the distinguished partnership model between civilians and the military, which has succeeded in laying down a solid ground for establishing a strong and stable democratic system that contributes to achieving stability in the country, in addition to implementing the Sudanese national project which is based on the values of democracy, freedom, peace and justice.

He stressed that the transitional government will continue to build a unified national army which is characterized by professionalism.

The Prime Minister has inspected the Sudanese Armed Forces’ Equipment Exhibition for all the military eras.

He was also briefed on the Armed Forces’ plan to maintain openness at the eastern front, besides the projects implemented by the Armed Forces at the eastern front, which included a number of modern bridges, roads and crossings.
