Hamdouk Appreciates Cooperation between Sudan and African Development Bank

The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, Wednesday received in his office the Regional Director of the Regional Director of the African Development Bank for East Africa, Ms. Nnenna Nwabufo, and appreciated the continuous cooperation between Sudan and the bank despite the circumstances surpassed by Sudan.

He stressed that removing the name of Sudan from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism opens new doors for economic and development cooperation, calling on the African Development Bank to continue working in the field of strengthening the cooperation with the private sector toward boosting the  development process in the country.

Dr. Hamdouk asked Ms. Nwabufo to convey his greetings to the President of the African Development Bank and his invitation to him to visit Sudan during the coming period.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Finance signed on Wednesday two agreements with the African Development Bank, the first is a bridging loan amounting to 425 million dollars to remove the arrears of the debts of the African Development Bank, and the second is a grant of 207 million dollars from the Bank to support the economic and financial reforms in Sudan
