Hamdouk Affirms Government Keenness to Solve East Sudan Issues

The Prime Minster, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, has affirmed keenness of the transitional government to address the issues of East Sudan, pointing in this regard to historical grievances and the poor development in the east.

This came when he received in his office Wednesday separately two delegations of the native administration and political leaders of east Sudan, headed by the chieftains Ali Ibrahim Daglal and Mohamed Mohamed Al-Amin Tirik.

The meetings discussed political and social issues in east Sudan, and affirmed the importance of peaceful coexistence, repairing the social fabric between societal components, and expediting the trial of the perpetrators of the crimes that were committed and holding them accountable within the framework of the law.

The meeting stressed the necessity of pushing forward the peace and development efforts in east Sudan, and continuing meetings to complete all files related to East issues.
