Khartoum (SUNA) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk has emphasized the importance that the transitional government attaches to the economic conference, which is currently being held in Khartoum, and to its outcome, which is expected to represent a clear and new roadmap for the path of the Sudanese economy.

Hamdok said, commenting on the working paper he presented at the opening session of the National Economic Conference here Saturday on the democratic development state and the visions, challenges and priorities of the transitional government, that “discussion on the development agenda and the need to create a broad-based consensus around an integrated renaissance project that enjoys great social and political support – upon which energies and resources are mobilized – has remained in the national debate since Independence.”

The Prime Minister added in a tweet on his Twitter Account that “the foundational period that we are going through now is the best chance to accomplish this delayed duty.”

Hamdok pointed out that sustainable and balanced development is the major door through which the Sudanese can make a structural change in the way they address the Sudanese problem, by setting development plans and strategies with participatory mechanisms with stakeholders from the various sectors of the state and society.

Hamdok added that this approach is becoming increasingly important, especially as we await the entry of entire Sudanese areas and peoples as an additional determinant when thinking about development and modernization in Sudan. The essence of the questions of war, peace, democratization and institutional building in our country we begin to answer them while we are waiting the outcome of this important conference.
