FM Phones Chinese Counterpart

 – Foreign Minister, Dr. Mariam Al-Sadig AL-mahdi phoned, Sundaty, the Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Li and reviewed with him the bilateral relations and means for developing them further, in all domains.

The minister briefed her Chinese counterpart on the developments of the situations in Sudan, particularly, the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and Paris Conference dossiers, explaining Sudan’s official position which calls for reaching abiding agreement and rejecting the unilateral procedure for filling the dam.

The Foreign Minister affirmed Sudan’s keenness to realize the interests of the all concerned parties according to the legal obligations and the rules of the international law.

Dr. Mariam stressed the danger of filling the dam without agreement, calling piling pressures on Ethiopia and supporting Sudan’s demands.

The Chinese Foreign Minister, on his turn,  expressed understanding over Sudan’ position on the Ethiopian Dam, referring to the importance of reaching agreement, affirming his country’s participation in Paris Conference.

 He outlined that his country is positively looking at the possibility of exempting the debt or exempting part of it. Mr. Wang Li praised the bilateral relations between China and Sudan and economic, cultural and political cooperation, expressing his country’s appreciation to Sudan and its readiness to activate relations in all economic, social and cultural fields in a way that enhances friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
