Exports of Cattle to Egypt Resumed

– The Ministry of Animal Resources and Fisheries has announced the return of livestock exports to the Arab Republic of Egypt after a suspension that lasted for a period of time due to the closure of the national trade road linking Sudan and Egypt.

The General Administration of Livestock Quarantines and Meat Health of the ministry said that 2,300 head of cattle were exported to Egypt after a stoppage during the past period, when protesters in the Northern and Nahral-Neil States set barriers on the national road due to the high electricity bill and the increase in the costs of agriculture.

The administration pointed out that the total export of live cattle to the Arab Republic of Egypt amounted to 7,500 heads of cattle during January.
