Dr. Hamdouk chairs meeting of Renaissance Dam Committee

Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk chaired, Monday, at the Cabinet HQ’s, the meeting of the Higher Committee on the Renaissance Dam in the presence of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Irrigation, the Director of General Intelligence Service and the members of the Technical Committee.

The meeting reviewed a report on the recent vist to West Africa by the Foreign Minister, Dr. Mariam Al-Sadig Al-Mahdi.

Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Prof. Yasser Abbas presented additional report on the activities and works of the negotiation team and the related technical, political and media committees.

Dr. Hamdouk stressed Sudan’s rejection the unilateral filling of the Renaissance Dam without reaching a binding and legal agreement, referring to the direct threat posed on operation of the Rossires Dam and the water projects and the citizens on the banks of the Blue Nile.

The meeting assured the plans and programs of the negotiation team and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Irrigation aimed at using all the legal means, before the different legal and justice regional and international institutions to defend Sudan’s legitimate interests.
