Daglo and Farmers of Rain-Fed Sector Discuss Problems and Challenges

Khartoum,  (SUNA) – Vice – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, received in his office on Wednesday a delegation of the Rain-Fed farmers’ Association and reviewed the problems and challenges facing the sector to enhance the production during the coming agricultural seasons, starting from the next season.

Deputy Chairman of the association, Garig Kambal Adam, said that the meeting was characterized by frankness and transparency, and in which all issues and problems facing farmers were raised.

He noted that the meeting reached a major decision to review gasoline prices and to resolve the price differences.

He pointed to the adoption of 12.5% of the micro-finance portfolio and its addition to the Agricultural Bank and to provide special support to the Agricultural Bank and to overcome all difficulties so that it can enter the next season strongly.

He referred to the solution of all the issues raised at the meeting, including formation of a higher committee to carry out the tasks of developing agriculture.
