Court trying June 30, 1989 coup plotters to hear investigator next Tuesday

The court trying plotters of the June 30, 1989 coup decided in its session today it would continue in its next session on Tuesday April 12, to hear the investigator in the case, who is to submit documents regarding the third accused, the ousted President Omer Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir, which include a CD of a TV program about the accused, along with paper documents.

Head of the court, Supreme Court Judge Hon. Hussain Al-Jak Al-Sheikh asked at the beginning of the session the investigator to identify the documents that he would submit to the court, at the request of the defense team, in order to be aware of the documents that will be submitted against their clients.

Regarding the absence of some of the accused for illness including the third accused Omer Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir, the first accused Youssef Abdel-Fattah, the 19th accused Bakri Hassan Saleh, the 11th accused Ibrahim Nayel Idam, the 13th accused Ibrahim Al-Senussi and the second accused Mohamed Al-Tayeb Al-Khanjar, Hon. Al-Jack said that medical reports stated that they were unable to attend court sessions, and accordingly it was decided to adjourn today’s session to next Tuesday.
