Council of Elders of Sudan announces unification of national efforts in Sudan’s constitutional document

The Council of Elders of Sudan announced the unifying and coordination of national efforts for (35) initiatives to solve the current crisis in Sudan’s Constitutional Document 2022, which citified to make a success the transitional period.

Prof. Muhammad Hussein Abu Salih, a member of the Council, revealed, in the (SUNA) forum today, t contacts with the African Union and its envoy, Muhammad Wad Labat, political forces and 4 major alliances, which included more than 200 party bodies and Sufi sects that reached to reformulate the constitutional document, and arrange for a conference., indicating that the new document does not exclude anyone who participated in the revolution, and included the formation of a rational and wise technocratic government with professional specifications, whose members have leadership skills, a mechanism has been established for their selection with transparency and practices a political discourse that prevents polarization.

He stressed that the document confirmed the establishment of a parliament in which the youth participate by 37% and women by 30%, and the signatories of peace agreement, while retaining seats for the movements that have not yet signed,

pointing to the establishment of a number of commissions.

Abu Salih stressed that the aim of the new document is to fill the constitutional vacuum and organize partnership by holding a conference of national convergence, to restore the national will and stop attempts to bypass it and establish a better future for Sudan, stressing that the success code based on loyalty and sacrifice to the homeland.

He stressed the need to unify the efforts of the political forces in light of the highly complicated regional and international situations and to establish a Sudanese platform.

He said that it was time for the Sudanese solution and transcend the mistakes of the past, ruling out desire foreign solutions.

He explained that a number of conferences will be held after the approval of Sudan’s Constitutional Document 2022, including the Sudanese Dialogue Conference to determine the future and interests of Sudan and how it is governed, and a strategic dialogue conference with the participation of experts, as well as holding the Constitutional Conference and concluding with the conference of reconciliation and coexistence in the states to open a new page, noting that exclusion harmed the transitional period and hijacked the revolution.
