Al Jaily -Wad Madani Petrolum Products Pipeline Launched

Minister of Energy and Petroleum Engineer Mohamed Abdallah Mahmoud, has launched Tuesday morning pipeline transporting petroleum product from Al Jaily area to the receiving station at Wad Madani town with a length of 217 kilometers and a diameter of 12 inches and a strategic depot at Wad Madani town with a storage capacity of more than 40 million cubic meters.

The minister inaugurated the pipeline for petroleum materials at Qawz Al-Batahain and Shikhab area at Umm Al-Qurah locality, in presence of Acting Governor of Gezira State Ismail Awadallah Al-Aqib along with the Governor of White Nile State , Undersecretary of the Ministry of Federal Government and a number of officials of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, the government of the state and Giad company and people of the state.

Addressing the celebration held on the occasion, the Minister of Energy and Petroleum affirmed that opening of the pipeline for petroleum products and Wad Madani strategic depot is a continuation to efforts for development of oil industry in the Sudan.

He expressed his pride in the Sudanese experts and experiences that carried out the project in accordance with the latest international standards.

He announced his ministry’s intention to extend the pipeline up to White Nile State, commending the efforts of Gezira State government to complete the project and achieve its economic and social objectives.
