Al-Burhan: Transition Process Faced Challenges and Solution is Near

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, pointed out that the transitional process in Sudan has faced great challenges and complications, indicating that the current indicators herald the approach of success for reaching consensus with participation of political and societal forces and the parties of peace.

In his address before the Tana Forum on Peace and Security in Africa on Saturday, Gen. Al-Burhan stressed that all the challenges and complications will strengthen the guarantees to ensure the stability of the transitional period and the formation of a civilian government to run the country and to create a suitable atmosphere for taking the necessary measures to hold free and fair elections at the end of the transitional period.

He reiterated the firm positions of the military institution, that were announced on July 4th in this year, on the withdrawal of the military institution from the political process to devote itself to performing its basic tasks of protecting and maintaining the security and sovereignty of the country.
