Al-Burhan: Sudan Plays Pivotal Role in the Horn of Africa

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, stressed that Sudan has been playing a pivotal role in the Horn of Africa, based on its geostrategic location and its belief in the principle of cooperation and its conviction on the approach of integration between the countries of the region, between themselves and the other regions in the African continent.

In his address Saturday to the  10th session of the Tana High-level Forum on Peace and Security in Africa, Gen. Al-Burhan affirmed Sudan keenness, in its capacity as president of the current session of the IGAD, to work for strengthening the bonds of good neighborliness among the countries of the region.

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council has praised the Tana African Forum for being an intellectual gathering in which visions are integrated, concepts are unified, and in which a fruitful discussion takes place with the aim to reaching the best ways to address the roots of the various problems and to raise the capabilities of response to overcome the negative effects of the repercussions and crises.

The 10th  session of the Tana High-level Forum on Security in Africa in Bahir Dar is attended by a number of African presidents and heads of state and government, in addition to representatives of international and regional organizations.
