Al-Burhan receives Vice President of South Sudan

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan received at his office today visiting Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan Hussein Abdelbagi.

Al-Burhan affirmed at the meeting the deeply rooted relations between Sudan and South Sudan, commending the big role the Republic of South Sudan had played in realizing peace and stability in Sudan by hosting the peace talks held in Juba between the Sudanese government and the forces of armed struggle that culminated in the conclusion of the Sudanese peace agreement.

Al-Burhan promised to remove all impediments pertinent to opening of border-crossings between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council got acquainted with progress of implementation of South Sudan peace agreement, affirming importance of collaboration of efforts for guaranteeing prevalence of peace and stability in the area.

The Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, on his part, reaffirmed in a press statement readiness of his country to continue efforts for completion of the peace process in Sudan, urging the parties of Juba agreement on peace in Sudan to be committed to what had been agreed upon, hoping that the peace talks between the government of Sudan and SPLM-N-Abdelaziz Al-Hilu would be culminated with full agreement.

On her part, South Sudanese Minister of General Education Awut Deng Acuil explained that the meeting touched on the situations of the students of South Sudan, commending the good treatment accorded to them.
