Al-Burhan participates in summit on accelerating actions to adapt to climate changes

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan participated today in the work of the summit on accelerating actions for adaptation to climate changes in Africa, which was held today at the International Conference Center in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on the sidelines of the conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, with the participation of African leaders.

The summit was opened by President of Senegal, President of the African Union, Macky Sall, stressing the importance of concerted efforts and joint coordination among all to address climate challenges facing the world and Africa.

For his part, the President of the Sovereignty Council made an intervention in the summit, during which he proposed a number of projects that would contribute and accelerate the adaptation measures of African countries to climate changes in the areas of agriculture, pastures and rationalizing the use of water to address the effects of climate changes in Africa.

It is noteworthy that the summit, called for by the African Union, aims at accelerating adapting of African countries to climate changes, coordinating jointly between them and preparing a collective strategy according to an African vision to confront these challenges.
