Al-Burhan and Sisi Discuss Issues of Renaissance Dam and Aggression on Gaza

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, received in his residence in Paris the President of Egypt, Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi, who arrived in Paris to participate in the Paris Conference for Support to the Democratic Transition in Sudan.

Present the meeting were the Foreign Minister, Dr. Mariam Al-Saddiq Al-Mahdi, and Sudan Ambassador to Paris, Omer Manis.

In a press statement, Dr. Mariam said that Dr. Mariam said that the meeting discussed three issues of concern to both sides, the first of which is the issue of the Renaissance Dam, where the two sides agreed on the necessity of coordination, especially that the date for the second filling is approaching and a comprehensive and that a binding agreement must be reached according to which the second filling shall take place with close coordination between the Sudanese and Egyptian sides so that this agreement can be concluded before the second filling.

She said that the meeting also dealt with the developments Chad, as the two presidents affirmed their concern with the security and stability in Chad and their joint work to support the stability in Chad and to avoid any negative repercussions on the people in Chad or in the region in general.

The Foreign Minister said that presidents Al-Burhan and Sisi also discussed the issue of the Israeli aggression on the West Bank and Gaza Strip and stressed that the continuous bombing is aggressive and unacceptable, and that the two sides must work with the rest of the components, especially the Arab and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to stop this aggression, adding that the two president also agreed that this destruction should stop, and that the two-state solution must be the basis for achieving a continuous peace and that Sudan and Egypt shall work together at diplomatic and political levels to help achieving peace in Palestine.
