The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, has affirmed during his meeting with Zimbabwean President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, at the headquarters of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the importance of communication between leaders in the two countries, and convocation of the meetings of ministerial committees and political consultation committees between them.

Gen. Al-Burhan has briefed the President of Zimbabwe on the political developments in Sudan, and reiterated his keenness to meet the aspirations of the Sudanese people for a true democratic transformation that is conducive to the stability and prosperity of Sudan.

The President of Zimbabwe expressed his country’s aspiration to continue joint cooperation with Khartoum in all fields, stressing the readiness of Zimbabwe to provide support to Sudan in all the regional and international forums.

President Emerson has pointed to the history of the cooperation between the two countries, especially the aid provided by Sudan to his country during the period of struggle for independence, expressing his appreciation of the relations between Sudan and Zimbabwe.
