Agar Participates in Funeral of Former Kenyan President Kibaki

Khartoum,  (SUNA)-Member of the Transitioanl Sovereignty Council(TSC), Malik Agar has participated in funeral ceremony  of the former Kenyan President, Mwai Kibaki, which was held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi in the presence of President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, a number of African leaders  and representatives of diplomatic missions and international and regional organizations.

Addressing the funeral ceremony, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta praised the efforts of the late President Kibaki in promoting peace in Africa, and his keenness for the continent to remain united, enjoying security, stability and development, free from conflicts and disputes

Kenyatta saluted his predecessor Kibaki and said, “He is a great political leader,” pointing to the reforms Kenya witnessed during his term, which made it a united and prosperous country. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the presidents and delegations that showed solidarity with  the Kenyan people and their government, and expressed their sadness and sympathy for the departure of President Mwai.

President Mwai Kibaki, who died at 90, held the presidency from 2002 to 2013 and is considered one of the economists and  political leaders in Africa.
