Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Yasser Al-Atta, has affirmed the Armed Forces ability to protect the homeland and maintain the security and unity of the country and the people’s gains.
Addressing Monday the officers, non-commissioned officers and men of the Artillery Corps in Atbara, Lt. Gen. Al-Atta stressed that the Armed Forces will not allow any partisan party or any circle targeting Sudan to destroy the country and destabilize its political and security unity.
He pointed out that the Armed Forces is working to achieve the choices of the Sudanese people so that the country can enjoy security and stability, affirming that the Armed Forces will remain supporting to the people and their hopes for stability, peace and development.
He referred to the efforts of the transitional period partners to establish a homeland that can accommodate all citizens and to lead it for progress, pointing to the challenges facing the country.
Lt. Gen. explained that the Juba peace agreement for Sudan is one of the biggest achievements, asserting the government keenness to bring the rest of armed struggle movements to peace, adding that agreement of principles signed in Juba between the government and the SPLM-North led by Abdul-Aziz Al-Hillu will lays down the basis for a lasting peace that ensures justice and equality and contributes to bolstering the national unity and cohesion.
