Wali of South Darfur Vows to Track Unruly Groups

Wali (governor) of South Darfur State, Musa Mahdi Ishaq, has vowed to pursue unruly groups who attack farmers at eastern Jebel Marra area following apprehension by security forces of perpetrators who killed three farmers last Thursday at Al Wuhda Locality northern Nyala city, capital of the State.

The State’ Security Committee headed by the Wali inspected Dabanga village at Al Wuhda Locality and extended condolences to families of the victims

The Wali , who was addressing the Dabanga people , said the security forces arrested the perpetrators and they would be brought to court to face a just trial , renewing rejection to any solution through reconciliatory conferences in the State

He added that the security committee would work for increasing the security enforcement in the northern State areas to impose the state authority , beside issuing strict directives to prevent frictions between farmers and herders.

The Wali agreed to set up police station in the area.

People of the area commended the prompt response of the military forces and arrest of the culprits , calling for bringing them to justice , imposing the state authority at northern areas of the State as well as gathering weapons from hands of people.
