Wali of C. Darfur State Meets SUNA Director General

The Wali (governor) of Central Darfur State Adeeb Abdel Rahman Yousif has affirmed the importance of creating  social and cultural cohesion throughout the country , particularly at areas that lacking development and isolated by war.

This came when the Wali paid a visit to the premises of the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) today where he met SUNA Director General Mohammed Abdulhamid.

The Wali pointed to the important role of media in creating a community that is characterized by social and cultural cohesion that makes people live in a harmonious way.

This, according to the Wali, would reflect the slogans of the Revolution and the big change that took place in the country.

On other hand the Wali said his state has big resources that has remained unexploited due to challenges facing the newly- born state.

Meanwhile he also pointed out that his state faces challenges of hosting big numbers of refugees and IDPs

SUNA Director General, on his part, affirmed readiness of the Agency to cover social, cultural and political activities in the state in a professional way to reflect the transition and the challenges facing the state.

The Governor promised opening a Branch office of SUNA in the state that would be provided with reasonable human and material resources needed for media work.

The meeting was attended by SUNA Managing Editor Mohamed Osman Adam and the Wali’s Media Advisor Ez-Edeen Dahb.
