US Treasury Department: Sudan is officially outside terrorism list

The United States has completed excluding Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism as the US Treasury Department published Wednesday the document to open the door to all banking and financial transactions.

According to the US Treasury Department, the decision complements the measure that the State Department began in last December to remove restrictions imposed on Sudan with regard to support for terrorism at the state level.

According to the statement, the official decision of the Treasury Department lifted all restrictions imposed on financial transactions with Sudan, and allowed unimpeded supply of agricultural products, medicines and medical equipment.

The document officially enters into force on May 20 after it is published in the Federal Register.
