U.S. Senator Christopher Coons, member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said that their visit to Khartoum comes to express their support and enthusiasm for the transition in Sudan.
Senator Coons added, in a press statement today, following talks held by the visiting US Congress delegation to Khartoum with the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, that the visit also came to follow up commitment of the United States of America to Sudan of a sum of 700 million dollars in development aid, noting that more support would be provided to enhance stability, security and peace for the Sudanese people.
For his part, Senator Chris Van Hollen pointed to his enthusiasm for following up the progress that have been made since the peaceful revolution that broke out in Sudan two years ago, affirming their support to Sudan transition towards democracy, peace and justice.
