Sudanese Women Union Issues Statement

The Sudanese Women Union Saturday issued a statement directed to the live Revolution forces through which it called for increasing the representation of women in the political and executive bodies, as stipulated in the constitutional document.

The Women Union referred to the increase in prices, the cost of living and transportation, the high cost of medicine and the need to provide medical treatment.

The statement also pointed to the problems and complications coinciding with the start of the school year, the difficulty of accessing schools, the difficulty of obtaining breakfast meal and study aids such as pens and notebooks, the synchronization of school opening dates with the rainy season, the grinding high prices, school fees and the continuous electricity outages and their impact on all sectors.

The statement demanded that justice should be achieved and the ousted regime be held accountable for the crimes it committed against the people, and that retribution (Qasas) for the martyrs should be implemented.
