Sudan Joins Conventions against Torture and Protection from Enforced Disappearance

Khartoum, (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Shams-Eddin Kabbashi, received in his office at the Republican Palace Wednesday the Wali (governor) of South Kordofan State, Dr. Hamid Al-Bashir Ibrahim, and hot informed on the situation in the state, the efforts for support to security, the societal peace building, enhancing the living conditions, expanding the roads and electricity projects and strengthening the communication network in the state.

In a press statement, the state’s Wali (governor) said that briefed the Sovereignty Council member on the situation at Leri town in the southern area and refuse of the citizens at Abu-Qossa area to the presence of UNISFA forces, adding that the meeting agreed on settlement of the issue peacefully.

He indicated that they also agreed on dealing with the file of the Democratic Change forces through coordination and consultation.
