Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk met at his office here today the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Sudan and Head of United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS) Volker Perthes, in the presence of the advisers of the Prime Minister for political affairs and international cooperation Yasir Arman and Aisha Al-Berair, respectively.
The two sides discussed the role of the United Nations in implementation of the Peace Agreement and the practical steps that have been made in this connection.
The Political Adviser of the Prime Minister said the two sides also discussed Sudan’s participation in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly, which are scheduled for next September.
Yasser Arman explained that the meeting dealt with the global interest, especially from Europe, to invest in Sudan, noting that one of the most important topics discussed was the issue of technical support from the United Nations regarding the coming elections in Sudan and the constitution-making process
