President of Sovereignty Council Returns Home After Visiting UAE

)-President of the Transitioanl Sovereignty Council(TSC), Gen. Abdul Fattah Al –burhan concluded a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and returned home Monday.

He was received at Khartoum airport by the TSC Secretary-General ,Lt. Gen. Mohamed Al Ghali Ali Yousif .

Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Khalid Omar Yousif , who accompanied the TSC President during the visit said in press statement that the visit was a response to invitation from the Crown Prine H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, describing the visit as fruitful and successful.

The Minister stated that the two sides held a sitting of talks at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi co-chaired by President Al Burhan and H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and in presence of Minister of Presidential Affairs in UAE, Mansour Bin Zayed, disclosing that the two sides discussed issue of impediment of bank transfers between Sudan and UAE.

He added that the UAE side pledged to remove obstacles and organize visit to Governor of Central Bank of Sudan after Eid Al Fitr for that purpose.

The Minister further added that the two sides discussed Sudan’s import of oil products and that the two sides reached agreements to be referred to Ministry of Energy for further discussion with the UAE side.

Khalid noted that Sudan and the UAE also tackled the regional issues of concern to the two countries and people.

The Minister said the meeting discussed issue of the Renaissance Dam and developments along Sudan-Ethiopia borders , stressing that Sudan conveyed to UAE its clear position in agreement which solved the issue since 1972.

On GERD, the Minister said Sudan conveyed its firm position that the issue should be solved via negotiation and importance of reaching binding agreement on filling and operation of the Dam.
