NCPP: No Trend for Suspending Political Newspapers

Khartoum, (SUNA) A responsible official source at the National Council for Press and Publications (NCPP) denied existence of any trend to suspend the daily political newspapers within the context of the anti-coronavirus pandemic campaign.

But the source did not rule out that the council would implement the decision whenever it is issued by the High Committee on Combating Coronavirus Pandemic.

In the same context, the NCPP Secretary General Mohamed Al- Amin Mohamed Abdalla said in a statement to SUNA that a number of sports newspapers are in the process of stopping due to the cessation of sports activities.

On the other hand, he stated that the council will play its role in obtaining night pass permissions for journalists whose works require to stay until the night. .

It is noteworthy that a number of Arab countries suspended newspapers as part of precautionary measures against the coronavirus disease.
