Khartoum, July 5 (SUNA) – The Minister of Interior, Gen. (police) Izz-Eddin Al-Sheikh, has affirmed Sudan concern with the issue of refugees and the importance of providing them with health and education service at their camps, stating that the refugees are living in exceptional and humanitarian conditions that necessitate providing them with support and assistance.
During his meeting at his office with the delegation of Troika headed by the US envoy to Sudan, Donald Booth, the Minister of Interior said that Sudan remained receiving big numbers of refugees, a matter that necessitate providing them with full support.
The Minister of Interior explained that the Refugees Commission is continuing to provide support according to its capabilities to refugees in the camps, in addition to providing security for employees working inside those camps in accordance with the laws and regulations organizing the asylum work, in addition to its efforts to combat the human trafficking and illegal immigration.
He called for continued cooperation between the Troika and the Ministry of Interior to serve refugee issues.
The Troika delegation has affirmed their commitment to provide the required support for the refugees at their camps.
