Military Talks Begin Between Sudanese and Egyptian Sides

Khartoum(SUNA) – A sitting for the military talks between the Sudanese and Egyptian sides, co-chaired by the Sudanese and Egyptian Chiefs of Staff, Lt. Gen. Mohamed Osman Al-Hussein, and Gen. Mohamed Farid Hijazi, respectively, started Saturday to discuss the cooperation between the two countries in the different military aspects.

The Chief of Staff described the visit of the Egyptian delegation as an important one and came at the appropriate time, referring to the ties of history and geography between Sudan and Egypt and the deeply-rooted relations between the two peoples and the two brotherly armies.

Lt. Gen. Al-Hussein has renewed Sudan keenness to strengthen its relations with Egypt in the field of military cooperation.

On his part, Gen. Mohamed Farid Hijazi referred to the political will available to the leadership of the two countries to cement the bilateral relations, a matter which encourages the deliberation on all issues and to reach common visions that reflect the interests of the two countries and their peoples under the regional situations that necessitate concerted efforts and joint action, adding that Egypt is convinced that the military cooperation will bolster the relations in all domains.
