Mennawi Calls on Components in Darfur to Engage in Dialogue and Reconciliation

The Governor of Darfur Region, Meni Arko Mennawi, has called on all the components in Darfur to engage in dialogue and reconciliation and to surpass the bitterness of the past.

During his meeting Wednesday in Al-Fasher city, the capital of North Darfur State, with a delegation of the native administrations in South Darfur State, Mennawi said that resort to tolerance and forgiveness is the only way for the people of Darfur to achieve social peace and reconciliation.

The head of the delegation, chieftain Ibrahim Abdalla Mohamed has congratulated Mennawi on his inauguration as the Governor of Darfur, affirming the native administration’s support to his efforts in implementing the Juba agreement for peace in Sudan, realizing peace and expanding security and stability, addressing the impacts of war, paving the way for development in the region and achieving the well-being of the people of Darfur.
