Manis Commends Agreement Signed Between SSWA and UNDP

Khartoum (SUNA) – Minister of Cabinet Affairs Ambassador Omer Bashir Manis has affirmed that partnership between the Secretariat of the Sudanese Working Abroad (SSWA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) avails opportunities for the development of national projects pertinent to migration after the change brought about in the Sudan by the December Revolution.

 The Minister, addressing the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding (MOA) between the SSWA and UNDP on Thursday 10th September, pointed out that the memorandum shows the reintegration of the Sudan into the international community, pointing out that it would give a great boost to the projects pertinent to Sudanese expatriates and the returnees.

  SSWA Secretary General Makin Hamid Tairab, on his part, affirmed that the memorandum constitutes a project of strategic partnership with the UNDP, saying that joint cooperation with the United Nations agency would enable implementation of projects pertinent to the Sudanese working abroad, the returnees and migration policies.

The UNDP representative, on his part, pointed out that the joint memorandum constitutes a new step in cooperation between the two sides in the fields of supporting and developing the various migration projects.
