Judges Start Inclusive Strike in Protest of Assault on their Colleague

Khartoum,  (SUNA) – The judges at all levels went on strike as of Wednesday noon until further notice in protest of an assault inflicted on the Resident Judge of Al-Fau Court in Gedaref State on Tuesday evening by an Armed Forces’ force led by two lieutenant officers and a number of soldiers.

In a statement to SUNA, the judge at the General Court and Supervisor of Public Relations and Information of the Judiciary, Dr. Ismail Idris Ismail, said that the aggression took place while the judge was at Al-Fau petrol station to get fuel for his car which belongs to the Judiciary, explaining that he was intercepted by the two officers, prevented from having fuel for his car and was severely beaten by them, despite his explanation to them that he is a judge and belongs to the Judiciary.
