Interior Minister Visits Gadarif and Kassala States

Khartoum (SUNA) – A high-level delegation of the federal government that is headed by Interior Minister Lt. Gen. (police) Al-Teraifi Idriss arrives at Gadarif and Kassala States Thursday to get acquainted on site on the influx of the Ethiopian refugees to the states.

 SUNA learnt that the Minister of Interior is to visit the border areas of Hamdaiet, Al-Laghadi, Al-Ghedaimah and Al-Ghariah Tamania that are temporary shelter sites for the refugees.

 The flow of the Ethiopian refugees into the Sudanese territories continues as large groups of them crossed Basalam River overnight.

The government of Gadarif State announced yesterday opening of Umm Rakuba camp to accommodate the refugees and commitment of the High Commission for Refugees to provide basic services there.
