IMF Declares Readiness to Assist Sudan

Khartoum,  (SUNA) The Executive Director, the Sudan’s representative on the Board of Executive Directors of the International Monetary Fund, Mr. Dumisani H. Mahlinza, has affirmed the fund’s readiness to work with the governor of the Sudan’s Central Bank and the staff involved in the fund’s file in the bank, and to provide the necessary technical assistance for restoring the economic stability.
This came in a congratulatory message received by Prof. Badr-Eddin Abdul Rahim, in the occasion of his appointment governor of the Central Bank of Sudan.

The IFM executive director has addressed the governor as deputy governor of Sudan in the Fund’s Board of Governors, indicating that the appointment of the governor came at a difficult time.
The CEO pointed to the work with the first African group to address these issues, explaining the Fund’s readiness to work alongside the Central Bank of Sudan in this framework.
On his part, the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan indicated that consultations are underway between the bank and the fund for sending a team for the restructuring of the Central Bank of Sudan soon.
