Higher education: Peaceful demonstration greatest gains of revolution

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research underlined that the right to demonstrate and peacefully protest is one of the greatest gains of the glorious December revolution, which our people forcefully gained after a long and arduous struggle in which a large number of martyrs were presented, and it is an uncompromising right.

In statement the ministry issued on what the martyrs’ families procession was subjected to on the 29th of Ramadan, that the brutal assault on peaceful gatherings was the behavior of the defunct regime and is not similar to what happened in terms of change.

The statement pointed out to the delay in achieving justice constitutes a threat to the revolution, and it is necessary for the judicial authorities to finish the investigation files in the dispersal of the sit-in and other cases, and to investigate the crime of the assault on procession of the families of the martyrs on the evening of Tuesday 29 Ramadan of 1442, and bring everyone who participated in this criminal act to justice without delay.

The ministry said that the anniversary of the sit-in’s dispersal has passed with a new crime has been added to it targeting the peacefully breakfast and procession of the families of the martyrs in front of the General Command of the Armed Forces,  and the firing of live bullets at the peaceful gathering, which resulted in deaths and a number of wounded and injured.

The statement pointed out that among the martyrs Muddathir Mukhtar Al-Shafie Mohammed, a student at the University of National Ribat, and Osman Ahmed Bad Eddin, a student at the National University, asking God to have mercy on them and all the revolution’s martyrs.
