Higher Council for Peace Expresses Satisfaction over Agreements Reached in Juba

Khartoum,(SUNA) – The Higher Council for Peace, chaired by the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, expressed its satisfaction in its meeting Monday at the Republican Palace over the agreements which were signed in Juba, the capital of South Sudan State, and commended the methodology with which the parties have conducted the negotiations.

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and spokesman of the Higher Council for Peace, Mohamed Al-Hassan Al-Taayeshi, said in a press statement that the meeting has given a directive to carry out societal and political consultations to identify the Sudanese people visions on the on the ongoing comprehensive peace process.

He said that the council affirmed the continuity of its meetings to achieve integrated vision regarding the arrangements for the round of negotiations which is scheduled to start on November 21.

Al-Taayeshi indicated that the importance of Monday meeting emanated from the fact that it came immediately after a successful session of negotiation in Juba in which the Sudanese parties have achieved important agreements that put the peace process in an advanced stage.

He affirmed the government commitment to implementation of all the peace conditions and requirements, welcoming the delegations of the Revolutionary Front which have arrived in Khartoum.
