Head of African Union Commission to arrive Khartoum tomorrow

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Moussa Faki Mahamat, will arrive Khartoum tomorrow, Saturday, accompanied by the (AUC) Commissioner for Political, Peace and Security,  Adiwi Bankouli, and the Advisor of commission’s  chairperson, Professor Mohamed Al-Hassan Wad Labbad, on a two-day visit to the country.

The (AUC) visiting delegation will meet with the head of theTransitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant-General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, the Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdok, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Maryam Al-Sadig Al-Mahdi.

The meetings will focus on the relationship between Sudan and the African Union, especially with regard to the process of supporting the democratic transition in Sudan, the development of the situation in the country and the position of implementing the peace agreement.

The visiting delegation will also hold meetings with some political figures and heads of African diplomatic missions in Khartoum, and meet the head of the UNITAMS mission.
