Khartoum, (SUNA) – The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Abou Al- Gheit, received, Saturday, the State Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Omer Gamar Eddin Ismail, who heads the delegation of Sudan to the emergency meeting of the League’s Council, which is being held Saturday, at the level of foreign ministers to discuss the American peace plan between the Palestinians and Israelis.
An official source in the ALO’s general secretariat noted that Abou Al- Gheit and Gamar Eddin discussed the latest developments in Sudan and the efforts made by the Sudanese state’s institutions for the consolidation of pillars of security and stability in the country, address the urgent economic challenges it is facing, and complete the requirements of the transitional period.
The source added that Abou Al- Gheit on his part, affirmed, the commitment of the Arab League to continue its role in support of the Sudan in this important stage by mobilizing coordinated Arab support to meet Sudan’s various priorities and needs to enable it surpass the transitional challenges, especially the success of peace process between the government and the armed movements, the relief of Sudan’s foreign debts, and raising of the Sudan’s name from the list of the states sponsor of terrorism.
