Hamdouk: Government Priorities Are To Establish Peace and Address Economic Crisis

Khartoum (SUNA) – The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, affirmed that the priorities of the transitional government are represented in the stopping of war, establish peace, address the economic crisis, laying the foundations for sustainable development, fighting corruption, adherence to the principle of transparency and accountability in addition to giving concern to social welfare and conservation of environment.

In his paper on the “state general framework for democratic development and program and priorities of the transitional government”, which he gave Saturday before the National Economic Conference, the Prime Minister said that the priorities of the transitional government in the field of development are to correct imbalances in the public budget, speed up the growth by increasing tax and non-tax revenues, rationalizing government spending, dealing with debts, reducing inflation rates, stabilizing the exchange rate and building confidence in the banking system and realizing price stability.

He emphasized that his government priorities also including giving attention to the agricultural sector, in both its plant and animal sectors, increasing the domestic product and national income, relying on the processing industries to enhance the government efforts to create an environment that is stimulating to the private sector to lead the initiative in developing the industrial sector, in addition to developing skills, capabilities and the human capital for raising the production efficiency.
