Hamdouk Calls for Giving Special Concern to Issue of Displaced and Refugees

The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, has given a directive to provide a special concern to the issue of the displaced persons and the refugees and to solve the problems facing them and to provide the basic services for the citizens of North Darfur State.

This came when the Prime Minister received in his office Monday the Wali (governor) of North Darfur State, Nimir Abdul-Rahman, who stated in a press statement that he received a number of Directives from the Prime Minister before his departure to assume office in Al-Fasher city, the capital of North Darfur State.

The Wali (governor) of North Darfur State affirmed the state’s full readiness to cooperate with humanitarian organizations in order to provide possible assistance to the displaced persons and to facilitate the return of refugees, noting that the meeting touched on the issue of the social diversity in North Darfur State and the ways to involve the political and societal forces and resistance committees in the advice and management of the next stage, in addition to the means to encourage the native administrations and women to be an essential  part of the state’s government in the coming period

Nimir also stressed that the priorities of his government for the next stage include providing basic services to the citizen in the fields of education, health, water and electricity, noting that the Prime Minister expressed his willingness to provide all possible assistance to provide a better service to the people of North Darfur State, adding that Dr. Hamdouk expressed his readiness to hold other meetings with the aim to overcome the obstacles and to address the problems facing the government of North Darfur State.
