Prime Minister Dr. Abdallah Hamdouk and the accompanying government delegation arrived in Juba today for inauguration of a session of direct dialogue with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement- North (SPLM-N).
The Government of Sudan and SPLM-N signed a declaration of principles last March, where President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan signed for the Sudanese Government, while Chairman of SPLM-N Commander Abdelaziz Al Hilu, signed for the movement with the aim of completion of the peace process and reaching comprehensive and durable peace in the country.
The Prime Minister was received upon arrival at Juba Airport by South Sudanese Presidential Adviser Tut Gatluak besides Minister of Foreign Affairs Beatrice Khamis, Minister of Defense Angelina Teny, Minister of Investment Dhieu Mathok and Minister of Irrigation Manawa Peter.
The Prime Minister is accompanied during the visit by the Ministers of Cabinet Affairs, Defense, Labor and Administrative Reform and Youth and Sports.
South Sudanese Presidential Adviser Tut Gatluak affirmed in a press statement at Juba Airport that all preparations have been completed for inauguration of the official session of dialogue between the Government of Sudan and SPLM-N at 10:00 am tomorrow, Wednesday, in the presence of President of the Republic of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Gen. Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan and Prime Minister Dr. Abdallah Hamdouk.
Gatluak explained that return of SPLM-N to the peace file would contribute to completion of the peace process in Sudan, reaffirming keenness of the government of the Republic of South Sudan on realization of peace in Sudan.
He indicated that Prime Minister Hamdouk, chair of the current session of IGAD, would attend today the inaugural session pertinent to implementation of South Sudan Revitalized Peace Agreement.
