Government-SPLM/N Negotiation Begins

The official direct negotiations between the government and the Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM)/N led by Abdel Aziz Al-Hilo kicked off, at the Crown Hotel, in Juba, the capital of the republic of South Sudan in the presence of the southern mediation.

The government delegation chaired by the Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, GE. Shams Edeen Kabashi while, the movement’s delegation led by Commander, Abdel Aziz Al-Hilo.

The inaugural session started yesterday and addressed by the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, the TSC President, Gen. Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, Commander, Al-Hilo and the Chairman of the Southern Mediation Committee, Tut Galwak amid regional and international presence.

The negotiation followed the signing of the Declaration of Principles between the two sides in Juba, last March.
